Final Reflective

This semester in Writing in the Disciplines, was honestly a fun class. In other classes we do group work but here it was majority of the semester, and by working in groups, I met new people, i'm typically a shy person, keep to myself but by Dr. Kyburz recommending to come out of our comfort zone really helped me this semester. One project that really stood out to me was the Documentary Assignment, this project was very helpful because we had to analyze a film but it into chronological order, just pure facts. This will be an important skill I will need to have when I go into Law Enforcement. Dr. Kyburz stressed it very much that it is all about simple clean writing when it come to writing reports, just facts, not using language we don't need just being ourselves when we write. Also, I learned this semester that double checking everything is a very important skill to have, and to read out loud. Before I honestly would just write and turn it in i would not double check for grammar punctuation, not after Dr. Kyburz said it was better reading our work out loud she guaranteed we would find mistake, and she was right. When she returned the paper where we had to fix our comma mistakes i read it out loud and boy did i fine lots of mistakes, this will definitely be one skill i keep forever.

Another assignment I enjoyed was learning about the types of interrogation methods because in other criminal justice classes we hardly ever touched on this topic, and we most definitely did not do mock interrogations. Learning about these techniques were great because it would me to wait hear, be patient, never rush things and never use force for any type of confessions. So to finish off this class definitely was one educated, informative, fun class because the students were nice, the professor was great, the topics and content we covered very informative. Pleasure meeting you!

Thank you Dr. Kyburz
