2 men suing Chicago Police Detectives over wrongful conviction

Talking a lot about wrongful convictions in class. coercion by higher authority, I found this article that talked about how a Chicago Police Detective for many years would target latino men from the Humboldt Park area and would frame these innocent men for murders they did not commit. One of the men was in prison for 25 years and the other was in prison for 27. In my opinion, spending almost a fourth of your life in prison for a crime you did not commit is absolutely absurd. These two men are now suing the department. In the article they mentioned that the detective would manipulate witness and would psychologically, and physically coerce these men into confessing. This reminds me of the Reid Technique, but in a more realistic way because this detective made these men get potential death penalties, if they would've stayed in prison.
